A Typical Day at St. Arnold's
Every day at St. Arnold's Central School is a carefully crafted blend of learning, creativity, physical activity, and personal growth. Our timetable is designed to keep students engaged, energised, and inspired from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.
Morning Assembly
The school day begins with our Morning Assembly at 8:00 AM — a cherished tradition that brings the entire school community together. The assembly includes the school prayer, the national anthem, a thought for the day, news headlines, and relevant announcements. Students from different classes take turns to lead the assembly, building public speaking skills and a sense of responsibility.
Class Sessions
Academic periods run from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM with short breaks in between. Each period is 40 minutes long, giving teachers sufficient time to cover concepts thoroughly while keeping students engaged. Teachers use a variety of methods — lectures, group discussions, lab sessions, multimedia presentations, and hands-on projects.
Lunch Break
The lunch break (1:00 PM – 1:30 PM) is an important social time. Students enjoy meals in their classrooms or the dining area, play with friends, and recharge for the afternoon. We encourage healthy eating habits and a balanced diet.
Afternoon Sessions
Post-lunch periods (1:30 PM – 3:30 PM) often include co-curricular subjects — Art, Music, Physical Education, Computer Science, and Library periods. These sessions give students a creative outlet and a break from intensive academic study.
After-School Activities
From 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, students can participate in a range of after-school clubs and activities including sports practice, science clubs, debate society, art workshops, and student council meetings. These activities are voluntary but enthusiastically attended.
