The School Parliament
The School Parliament at St. Arnold's Central School is a vibrant student-led body that mirrors the democratic values of our nation. It gives students a voice in school affairs, builds leadership skills, and instils a deep sense of civic responsibility and service.
Structure of the Parliament
The School Parliament is modelled on the structure of the Indian Parliament and consists of:
- Head Boy and Head Girl — Elected leaders who represent the student body and work closely with school management
- Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl — Support the Head Boy and Head Girl in all school activities
- House Captains and Vice Captains — Leaders for each of the four school houses (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow)
- Class Representatives — Elected from each class to raise student concerns and relay information
- Subject Prefects — Responsible for specific areas such as the library, science lab, and computer room
Elections
The School Parliament is elected through a democratic process at the beginning of each academic year. Students in Classes VII and above are eligible to stand for election. The election process includes nominations, campaigning, speeches, and a secret ballot — giving every student a genuine voice in who leads them.
Responsibilities
- Organising and leading school events, assemblies, and competitions
- Representing student interests in discussions with school management
- Maintaining discipline and order in common areas and during events
- Leading community service initiatives and social responsibility programmes
- Acting as role models for younger students in conduct, academics, and character
Our Values
"Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge. Our School Parliament exists to serve, not to rule."
Current Parliament
The current School Parliament members for the academic year 2025–26 will be announced after the annual elections. We look forward to welcoming a new generation of student leaders.
